Before founding ASEAN Strategy Group to provide market intelligence and corporate finance advisory focused on Southeast Asia, Marc had been living and working in Vietnam since 2003. Throughout his career he has worked in advisory, sell-side equity research, institutional sales and fund management. 


ASEAN Strategy Group is Marc’s third business in Vietnam; he was a founding partner of Horizon Capital Group in 2005, and an early investor in Pasteur Street Brewing Company in 2014.


He has headed several equity research departments, has trained dozens of equity analysts, and has helped multiple institutional investors better access Vietnamese investments. He has covered a full array of investment opportunities in Vietnam through both his buy-side and sell-side roles. 


He has been widely recognized as a thought-leader on Vietnam’s capital markets and has been cited in the WSJ, Bloomberg Businessweek, Asia Money, and Finance Asia.


Before moving to Vietnam in 2003, Marc worked as a private equity analyst in a Montreal-based family office which focused on healthcare, biotechnologies and agri-tech. 


He is Vice President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham). In his spare time he mentors startups as an Entrepreneur in Residence for VIISA, a local startup accelerator. 


He holds an M.Sc. in Finance from HEC Montreal and is a CFA Charterholder.

As a CFA charterholder, Vinh has a strong financial background and investment expertise. Besides his specialisation in private equity, Vinh has significant experience in business and corporate advisory services, particularly M&A transactions and financial restructuring.


Vinh has over 20 years of experience working in corporate finance, investment and asset management. His extensive expertise involves performing comprehensive business and investment due diligence, providing business advice to companies, conducting project appraisals, and executing M&A transactions. He has a deep network with various local companies and entrepreneurs in Vietnam.


He held senior management positions at various domestic and foreign companies (Bluewave Advisory, Saigon Capital, AureosCapital). Among other corporate finance and M&A projects, Vinh’s achievements include the elaboration of a bankable business plan for a world class integrated resort project in Vietnam, helping the company to raise multi-million syndicated bank loans in Vietnam. Vinh also conducted investment transactions into private companies which were eventually listed on Vietnam’s stock market. Vinh also participated in the arrangement of several multi-million US dollar syndicate loans for infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City.


Vinh holds an MBA in Banking and Finance (with Distinction) from the University of Birmingham (UK) and another MBA (with honours) from the Centre Franco Vietnamien de Formation a la Gestion(CFVG-Vietnam). Vinh received his Bachelor’s degree in International Trade from the Foreign Trade University. Vinh is a Chevening scholar and is among the first CFA Charter-holders of Vietnam. Vinh is currently the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the CFA Community in Vietnam.

Harry has held many management positions at leading Vietnamese fund management & Fortune 500 firms with over 10 years’ experience in fund & portfolio management in Vietnam and over 5 years’ experience in private equity investments in the US. 


Harry is a Non-Executive Director with VinterGroup, a private equity group from the US and an Advisor at Sapphire, a local venture between GIC Real Estate, a sovereign fund from Singapore and Australia-based Sakkara for their investment activities in Vietnam. 


During his time in the US, Harry worked as a Portfolio Manager at BP America in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, Harry was Managing Director at Saigon Asset Management where he jointly raised two closed-ended funds with an initial AUM of US$125 million. Harry also managed the portfolio of the Vietnam Property Holding fund and led the local investment team to achieve the Best-Performing Property Fund in 2009 by LCF Rothschild. As Head of Investment Advisory at CBRE Vietnam, he represented international clients like HP, Nokia, Intel to successfully secure their office assets in Vietnam. 


Fluent in English and Vietnamese, Harry holds a Master’s degree from the University of Greenwich (UK) and an MBA degree from Texas A&M University (US).

Hubert has broad management experience in accounting, finance, IT, product management, market strategy, business development and general management.  Hubert’s cross cultural career began as a “Big 6” auditor in New York City and he currently is a wholesale distributor in SE Asia. Hubert has been living and working in SE Asia since 2010. Throughout his career, he has leveraged his knowledge of Accounting Information Systems in analytics & data modeling, general management, marketing, six sigma and supply chain management for global multinational corporations.


Hubert has over 25 years of experience, with nearly 20 years in various roles and functions with an industrial manufacturer. He has distribution, sales and service experience in marine, construction, transportation, and power generation markets in 7 of the 10 nations in SE Asia. As a Regional MD, he led a Myanmar startup and several strategic projects to build market capabilities in Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore and achieve growth targets.


Hubert is from the United States. Before moving to SE Asia, he held various corporate roles with a global manufacturer including a green belt certification. Some of the work included managing business strategy, organization development, customer relationship management and coordination of distribution activities. With a strong IT background in project management, data modeling and data management, he has been able to leverage data and gain critical insights that deliver business results.  From data rich to data poor environments, he has used analytics to define extended coverage and warranty terms, negotiate market based transfer pricing, segment markets to grow revenue and improve returns on net operating working capital through sales and operations planning.


Hubert has a B.S. in Accounting and a M.S. in Accounting Information Systems from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
